Sub-Zero 700 Series integrated (700TR, 700TCI, 736TR, 736TCI)
This generation answers back. COLDER and WARMER move a compartment one degree at a time, and a SERVICE indicator lights or flashes when the controls have found a temperature or ice maker problem, or when the condenser is overdue for cleaning.

What fails with age
| Assembly | How it shows |
|---|---|
| Condenser behind the kickplate | Out of sight, so nobody looks at it. Dust packs the fins, the compartments lose ground on a warm afternoon, and SERVICE can light for nothing worse than that. |
| Door and drawer gaskets | A custom panel adds weight to a door that is already heavy. A flattened seal shows as damp at one corner, and as an ajar chime on a door that looks shut. |
| Drawer slides and the upper drawer harness | Drawer models run a control cable to the upper drawer. Lighting or a reading that drops out when that drawer is worked points at wiring rather than at the board. |
| Ice maker and container | A column needs its ice maker switched off at the panel when the container comes out; tall and drawer models do that themselves. Slow filling, or none at all, is the age failure. |
| Control board and display | A display holding 38 and zero on a cabinet that is plainly not cold is showroom mode, not a dead board. A panel that answers nothing at all is the board. |
Parts status
| Part | Supply |
|---|---|
| Door and drawer gaskets | Routine to order once the model and serial are in front of a parts desk, and the item fitted most often on this line. |
| Fans, motors and condenser hardware | Generally still catalogued. The serial decides the revision, because the 27-inch and 36-inch cases do not share everything. |
| Drawer slides, bins and interior trim | Where a number has usually been superseded. A substitute is found before the visit, not during it. |
| Boards, keypads and display glass | Matched to the serial rather than to the series. Supply is confirmed before anything is promised about the repair. |
What a visit involves
- 1The designation comes off the plate first: a 27-inch case and a 36-inch one share very little hardware.
- 2Both compartments logged against the settings this line ships with, 38 degrees and zero.
- 3Kickplate off, condenser cleared and looked over. Sub-Zero asks for that every three to six months on the integrated line.
- 4Seals checked corner by corner, and the ajar alarm timed against the thirty seconds it is meant to allow.
- 5You hear the band and the figure inside it before any part is ordered.
Repairs on this series usually land in these bands: Fan motor, evaporator side or condenser side$320–$700; Door seal or drawer gasket$270–$680; Control board or user interface$390–$1,000. The figure inside the band is agreed before anything comes apart.
This line did not stop here — what the 700 became traces it forward. The plate on an integrated unit is in a different place from a full-size cabinet. Wine units of the same era are covered under wine storage service .
Follow-ups
- Why can I not find the rating plate in the door?
- Because Sub-Zero does not put it there on integrated units. On the 700 Series the plate sits inside the cabinet, to the left of the upper drawer, where a full-size built-in would carry it near the top door hinge instead. Pull the drawer out, photograph the plate and ring Sub-Zero Repair Service Denver on (720) 770-4189.
- What is the SERVICE indicator telling me?
- That the control system has found a temperature or an ice maker problem, or that the condenser wants cleaning. Sub-Zero lists all three behind the one indicator. Clean the condenser first, then cycle the power at the control panel. Should the light stay on, book a visit with Sub-Zero Repair Service Denver on (720) 770-4189.
- The interior lights are out but the unit is still running.
- That is usually the door alarm doing its job rather than a lamp failure. A door or drawer left ajar disables the lighting to keep heat out of the compartment, and closing it for an hour brings the lamps back. If they stay dark after that, the switch or the harness is next to check.

Two ways in, and nothing to fill in
Give us the model number and what the cabinet is holding. That is usually enough to know which circuit is at fault before anyone is dispatched — and which parts belong on the van.
