Sub-Zero PRO 48 and 648PRO: the Professional cabinet
Two panels to read on this cabinet: an interior control panel for the settings, and an external display carrying freezer, refrigerator and drawer temperatures with REPLACE FILTER and SERVICE beside them.

What fails with age
| Assembly | How it shows |

| Condenser behind the grille | The grille pulls out at its bottom edge and rotates up; condenser and water filter share the space behind it. A clean is asked for every three to six months, and a skipped year shows as a cabinet that never stops running. |
| Water filtration system | Rated for 750 gallons or twelve months, whichever arrives first, and then REPLACE FILTER appears in the external display. A message that returns straight after a change is worth a look. |
| Ice maker and container | The maker cycles eight cubes every two hours. Cubes fused into one block usually mean ice left standing; a container that never fills at all is the module. |
| Drawer slides, gaskets and hinges | Three loaded drawers under two tall doors. A drawer front that drops, or a seal that no longer wipes the frame, turns up as frost in the freezer drawer. |

What a visit involves

- 2Temperatures taken in all three zones, because refrigerator, refrigerator drawers and freezer are set separately here.
- 3Grille opened, condenser cleared, filter life read off the external display while it is open.
- 4Nothing is ordered until you have the band, the figure inside it, and a plain account of what is worn.

Do not confuse it with a 48-inch BI and Classic side-by-side. Professional cabinets are fewer on the ground, which changes the parts route . The ice maker and its container are ice maker repair work.

- Is a PRO 48 the same thing as a 648PRO?
- PRO 48 is the line; 648PRO and 648PROG are the designations Sub-Zero prints on the plate, and PRO4850 turns up in the same company's list of plate locations. For a parts order the distinction hardly matters: read out whatever is on your plate to Sub-Zero Repair Service Denver on (720) 770-4189 and the visit is $89 credited to the repair.
- What does REPLACE FILTER in the display mean?
- It is a counter rather than a fault. The cartridge is rated for 750 gallons or twelve months, whichever arrives first, and the display raises the message when one of the two is reached. It sits behind the same grille as the condenser. If the message comes straight back after a change, ring us.
